Tips to Build Confidence!

“CONFIDENCE: You must believe in yourself if you expect others to believe in you.” – Coach John Wooden Our 100 Mile Club participants are taught to have confidence by believing in themselves, trusting their journey, and not comparing their success with others. Students gain the ability to control their own motivation, behavior, and social environment by applying their confidence in their daily life. Our mission is to empower students and families to achieve a healthy lifestyle through physical activity.     3 Tips to Build Confidence!   Praise effort. Offer praise for effort, progress, and attitude. This type of praise helps them work toward goals.   Focus on strengths. Focus more on strengths than weaknesses. Kids feel better about themselves when they understand their strengths.   Let kids help and give. Allow your students to support and help each other toward their goals. Helping builds confidence and a good feeling for kind acts.  Having daily opportunities to practice confidence helps kids grow. Every child is different, and confidence may come easier to some kids than others. But a child’s confidence can GROW!!   Where to buy the book: We recommend buying Inch and Miles: The Journey to Success or Coach Wooden’s Pyramid of Success at Amazon and supporting 100 Mile Club at no additional cost to you with Amazon Smile!  How to add 100 Mile Club as your Amazon Smile non-profit: Go to smile.amazon.com, select your non-profit (hopefully us!), and shop! Steps for Fitness Success!

“FITNESS: Act, eat, and think right.” – Coach John Wooden  100 Mile Club participants are encouraged to move their bodies every day to maintain a healthy lifestyle and learn essential life skills necessary to succeed in life. Our program can help improve students’ social-emotional well-being and enhance their academic performance with our evidence-based program. We keep fitness simple by challenging kids to walk or run 100 miles during a school year positively impacting their bodies and mind.    3 Easy Tips for Students to Learn Healthy Habits!  Exercise Daily. Add a daily routine of walking or running for 30 minutes a day or set a goal to walk or run 3 miles per week.  Eat the Right Foods. Fruits and vegetables are the best things to eat when getting into your fitness routine. Eating the right food will give you more energy to earn your miles.   Get Sleep. Getting enough sleep to recharge your body will help you think right. This is key to helping you set goals and keep a positive mindset.     Daily exercise, eating right, and staying positive each is an essential step to help you and your students crush goals towards GOLD! Together, we are creating healthy, happy, and connected kids and families. How to Help Your Kids Set and Reach Goals!

“HARD WORK: Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.” – Coach John Wooden. 100 Mile Club participants have a big dream to reach 100 miles and earn a gold medal. Our program materials set students up for success by teaching them to set long-term and short-term goals. The journey of 100 miles is broken down into 25-mile intervals, allowing each participant to find their own pace and achieve their goal. An essential life skill taught with goal setting is HARD WORK which teaches kids to pursue the goals they set out to achieve.  Our 100 Mile Club motto is ALWAYS EARNED. NEVER GIVEN. 3 Steps to Help Your Kids Get Active and Moving! Set specific goals. Ask your kids to set goals that can be measured (For example, “I want to run 3 miles each week.” .)   Break it down. Teach your kids to break their goals into smaller, manageable steps (celebrate every 25-mile milestone).   Make it a classroom plan. When classmates make goal-setting a classroom effort, they learn to support each other. Accepting the challenge to run or walk for a whole school year is not an easy task. But each year, students and families across the country join the 100 Mile Club movement.  Where to buy the book: We want to recommend buying Inch and Miles: The Journey to Success or Coach Wooden’s Pyramid of Success at Amazon and supporting 100 Mile Club at no additional cost to you with Amazon Smile!  How to add 100 Mile Club as your Amazon Smile non-profit: Go to smile.amazon.com, select your non-profit (hopefully us!), and shop!
