Let’s Meet-Up!
The Benefits of Attending 100 Mile Club Meet-Ups
100 Mile Club® hosts sanctioned meet-ups where kids can earn miles with their families throughout the school year. One such meet-up is the Riverside Road Runner Meet-Up, held every first Sunday of the month (during the school year calendar). This meet-up is hosted by the Riverside Road Runners, a local adult running club that offers year-long walking, running, and training programs for people of all ages and abilities.
One family, the Davis family, fully embraced the benefits of meet-ups. Their two daughters, Sofia (age 6) and Mila (age 8) earned a remarkable amount of miles and connected with their community and each other. They exceeded their initial goal of 250 miles (earning 1,703.25 miles together). Sofia ran 20 miles alongside Ultra-marathon runners at the 100 Mile Club’s annual Run4Kids event, and both girls participated in their first OC Half-Marathon.
The community aspect of the running world and the support from fellow runners proved to be invaluable motivators for the girls. The Davis family found that meet-ups and running with a local club brought them closer together and provided a supportive community to achieve their goals, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie.
100 Mile Club Meet-Ups are a fantastic way for families to stay motivated, support each other, and enjoy a fun and healthy activity regardless of age or skill level. These meet-ups not only encourage physical activity but also bring families closer and create lasting memories while connecting with the community, offering a thrilling and enjoyable experience for all.
Thank you to the Riverside Road Runners for hosting a great meet-up and to families like the Davis family for being a part of the 100 Mile Club team!
