Once a 100 Miler, Always a 100 Miler!

Adrian’s 100 Mile Club journey started in 2007 when he was in kindergarten at Sierra Vista Elementary in Norco, CA. In true 100 Mile Club spirit, he loved the feeling of freedom running gave him and never worried about how he ran; he simply Ran Like a Kid.

When he went to middle school, 100 Mile Club wasn’t offered, but his love for running never left. “It was always in the back of my mind,” he said, “I had tried track but found that the competitiveness had taken away the enjoyment.” In college, Adrian began to run again, and he found the same enjoyment and drive to better himself that he had with 100 Mile Club. “It really helped me through some hard times and made me feel better about myself because I was reaching my personal goals at my own pace.”

In April 2024, he saw a social media post of his friend in 100 Mile Club merch, which led Adrian to our online store, where he had put one of our 100 Mile hats in his cart. At the same time, he had been recovering from nasal surgery, and he made the goal of running 100 miles that month. The 100 Mile stars aligned when Adrian ordered the hat to motivate himself to reach his goal, and when he came into the office to pick up his order, he also left with a staff position!

Adrian has already left his mark as a team member. Beyond assisting with our in-house inventory, his influence has reached into our online store, design suggestions, event coverage, and photography and videography (you can see some of his workarounds in this blog!). He has also been attending kickoff days at 100 Mile Club Schools, sharing his love of running and personal growth within the program. He has already inspired new member students to take on the challenge themselves!

Adrian’s background as a 100 Miler leads his passion, and we couldn’t be more thankful for all he’s done. We can’t wait to see how you help 100 Mile Club flourish further!
