Creekside Middle School students, parents, staff and community members logged more than 5,000 miles on Wednesday, Oct. 23 for the Run4Good October Challenge.
In total, the school tallied 20,942 miles during the month of October. The school was already awarded a $5,000 grant through Saucony Run4Good Foundation. The grant mirrors Creekside’s100 Mile Club, where students were encouraged to log miles through their phone apps to receive an additional $5,000 grant. Local instructor and 100 Mile Club coordinator Janette Longcrier reported that Creekside is exceeding their current goals.
“We more than qualified for the extra $5,000, thanks to all those that used the app in October,” said Longcrier. “We are excited to be able to continue the 100 Mile Club and allow students to join without having to pay the fee. We hope to continue inspiring those at Creekside and the community to have a healthier lifestyle.”
