Horace May Accepts the Challenge

Sunshine or snow, students at Horace May Elementary School in Bemidji have one goal in mind: running 100 miles in a year.

Horace May is participating in a national program called the 100-Mile-Club.  The program gets children to run or walk everyday until they reach 100 miles for the school year.  Horace May joined the 100-Mile Club to get students more active.

This is the school’s first time participating.  Horace May expected 40 students to sign up, but instead got nearly 200 students in the program.  Teachers say students benefit from the morning exercise in and out of the classroom.  They see students more focused and enthusiastic about school work.
