Our schools sure know how to put their feet to good use! So many of our schools are utilizing 100 Mile Club to RALLY their kids and families to give back and make a difference in their communities and beyond! Read below for some serious inspiration…
Mark Twain Elementary.
The Twain Bullfrogs 100 Mile Club & PTA held a Turkey Trot & Canned Food Drive on Parent Conference Day for all families. It was their first time combining the two events and it was a huge success! One little boy ran 6 miles in that hour. WOW! What a great morning, Coach Magdaleno!
John F. Kennedy Elementary.
Friday Night, November 1, 2013, JFK had their Heroes Run at Orange Terrace Park for Veterans. JFK & 100 Mile Club have so many amazing families in their organizations. They collected 87 cards/letters to take to the VA hospital and an overwhelming amount of food was donated by the 100 Mile Club families for the food bank. Coach Brenda White sends massive thanks to the families, the Air Force Volunteers who came out and cheered on our 104 walkers/runners and everyone who helped make this a great night.
South Tamarind Elementary.
South Tamarind Elementary, led by Rock Star Coach Lily Campos, held a triple-header! They had a Family Night at the school from 4-7:30 . Every can donated was a ticket to win great prizes from community businesses, the kids got oodles and oodles of miles, and once the sun set, it was bundle up and cuddle in for movie time. The fire department even came out and ran with the kids and let them tour their big red truck! What a blast!
