The McNeil Elementary 100 Mile Club®, led by coaches Tara McDonald-Gomez and Marc Truelove, hosted a studio tour where students earned miles for visiting art studios in the McKinney Artist Studios Tour. The entire McKinney, Texas community was invited to walk through seven (7) unique studios, meet several artists, and/or to purchase art from local talent. Our little 100 Milers earned 1 mile toward their 100 mile goal by visiting each art studio with several blocks of off walking distance in between each studio.
What an incredibly creative way to encourage our students and their families to see their community, get some exercise, and spend time together. …aaaand, Coach Truelove (pictured below in his very own studio) sold 15 paintings!! :0)
