Apple Valley Desert Rock & Road Half Marathon

Get ready to join the Apple Valley community for an exciting day of fitness and fun on March 15, 2025, as we host our inaugural Desert Rock and Road Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K Run/Walk, starting promptly at 8:00 AM. This event offers something for everyone, from seasoned runners to those looking to enjoy a leisurely walk through our beautiful town. The race begins at Civic Center Park, leading participants through scenic routes that highlight the stunning landscapes of Apple Valley. With well-marked courses, multiple aid stations, and enthusiastic volunteers, we are dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
Participants can choose from three race options: the 5K, 10K, or the Half Marathon. Each distance offers a unique challenge, whether you’re a beginner aiming for the 5K, stepping up your game with the 10K, or tackling the more demanding Half Marathon. Every participant will receive a commemorative medal to celebrate their achievement.
Even if you’re aiming for a personal best or simply enjoying the day with friends and family, this event promises to be a memorable and uplifting experience. Race Day Info/Packet Up
Friday Packet Pick Up: 3/14/2025 – 3 – 6pm
Race Day Registration/Packet Pick Up opens at 5:30 am
Race Day registration closes at 6 am
5K/10K/Half Marathon time 8:00 am
Half Marathon Time Limit: 3.5 hours (Pace 16:01.83)
10K Run or Jog Only – 5K Run, Jog, or Walk
We recommend that anyone under the age of 16, on race day, should be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian that is also registered for the race.
Parking
Athletes can park in the Town Hall Parking Lot off Dale Evans Parkway/Westlund Way or in the Super Target shopping center.

All calendar items are independent local meet-ups hosted by outside volunteers, or are organized events ran and managed by other organizations. All are open to 100 Mile Club participants and families. Please check periodically for time/date changes and cancellations, or contact the volunteer listed as “organizer” for any questions.

Counting Miles at Events and Meet-ups
While miles from listed meet ups may be counted toward a participant’s 100 Mile Club goal, it is ultimately the decision of each school to honor miles earned from this calendar at their site. Check with your school 100 Mile Club coach or teacher to verify whether they will accept miles earned at a specific outside event.
At most events, a credit slip or medal will be given to take back to a child’s school for mile-credit. Credit slips will be issued only for time listed for each event.
Weather Permitting
All events scheduled are as weather permits. Events may be cancelled up until the time of the event. Every effort will be made to advertise any cancellations or changes, including updates on the website and on social media. It is ultimately up to the attendee to verify if an event is scheduled. Credit slips will not be issued for cancelled events.
