Running Strong with 100 Mile Club!

Castle Rock Elementary in Diamond Bar, CA, just finished its second successful year of the 100 Mile Club, and the energy is fantastic! What started small has grown into a big movement that encourages fitness, goal-setting, and lots of fun for students.

Coach Bethany and the whole school community have embraced the 100 Mile Club. The results are clear: the club nearly doubled in size this year! But the numbers don’t tell the whole story. The students’ dedication is truly inspiring:

  • Over 75% of club members ran more than 50 miles, showing their strong commitment.
  • An impressive nine students reached the incredible 100-mile milestone, proving their endurance.
  • One amazing student even ran an astounding 200 miles!

Beyond the miles, the program opened doors to new achievements. This year, Castle Rock runners participated in their first 5Ks, with some even winning medals – a great confidence boost! The love of running has definitely caught on, with several students joining the school’s track team.

100 Mile Club’s success isn’t just about the students. Dedicated teachers and staff joined the morning runs, offering encouragement and setting a positive example. The end-of-year run was a true community celebration. Volunteers and staff brought pom poms, foam fingers, and lots of energy to cheer on the 40 enthusiastic runners, even joining them for some final laps.

The highlight? A fantastic “victory tunnel” created by cheering supporters. This unforgettable finish line experience celebrated the students’ incredible achievements and the community’s support.

Coach Bethany perfectly summed up the program’s impact: “We love the 100 Mile Club organization and all that they do! Thank you for helping us build a great program for our kids!”
