Jiovani’s Journey:

More Than Just Miles with 100 Mile Club!

Every day at 100 Mile Club, we hear inspiring stories that remind us why we do what we do. Today, we’re excited to share one of them, showcasing the incredible impact our program has on young lives. Meet Jiovani, a bright 10-year-old fourth grader from Gus Franklin Elementary School in Victorville, CA.

Like many kids, Jiovani enjoys sports, playing football and basketball. But recently, a new passion has taken hold: running. What began as a challenge has blossomed into a genuine love for hitting the track and pushing his limits, all thanks to 100 Mile Club!

We recently received a heartfelt letter from Jiovani’s mother, Meagan Luvert, and her words truly touched us:

Dear 100 Mile Club Team,

I wanted to thank you for creating such an incredible program. My son Jiovani absolutely loves being part of 100 Mile Club. It’s been such a positive experience for him – physically, mentally, and emotionally. He looks forward to school every day so he can run towards his goal.

His enthusiasm is contagious! He’s constantly asking friends and family for old 100 Mile Club T-shirts, treasuring each one he gets and wearing them with pride. He even had his grandmother order some items from your store and was overjoyed when they arrived! We live close by, and now he’s eager for me to take him there in person – that’s how excited he is to connect with everything related to the club.

He’s also started drawing pictures for his friends in the club, sharing encouragement and excitement in such a thoughtful way. It’s been wonderful to see how this program has inspired him.

Thank you for creating such a positive and motivating environment for kids. The impact you’re making is truly special, and we’re so grateful to be a part of it.

Warm regards, Meagan Luvert, Gus Franklin Elementary School

Jiovani’s story perfectly illustrates the many benefits of 100 Mile Club:

  • Fosters a Love for Physical Activity: For Jiovani, running is now more than just exercise; it’s a source of personal challenge and pride. The program helps kids discover the joy of movement and build healthy habits for life.
  • Builds Confidence and Goal-Setting Skills: The clear goal of running 100 miles teaches children how to set objectives, work towards them consistently, and feel the satisfaction of achievement. Jiovani’s pride in his progress shows this perfectly.
  • Promotes Mental and Emotional Well-being: Meagan highlights the positive impact on Jiovani’s mental and emotional state. Physical activity is a great stress reliever and mood booster. The sense of accomplishment and belonging within the club further enhances self-esteem.
  • Cultivates a Sense of Community and Belonging: Jiovani’s excitement about collecting t-shirts and wanting to visit our store shows a strong connection to the 100 Mile Club community. His thoughtful drawings for friends demonstrate the camaraderie and support the program encourages.
  • Encourages Kindness and Empathy: Jiovani’s initiative to encourage his peers through his artwork highlights the positive social skills the program nurtures. It’s about more than just running; it’s about supporting and uplifting each other.

Jiovani’s journey beautifully demonstrates the positive ripple effect that the 100 Mile Club has on children, their families, and their schools. We are so inspired by his enthusiasm and the wonderful support he receives from his family.

Thank you, Meagan, for sharing Jiovani’s story with us. It fuels our passion and strengthens our commitment to creating a world where every child can experience the joy and benefits of running, walking, and achieving their goals.
