Supporting LA’s Homeless Students:
How 100 Mile Club is Making a Difference

100 Mile Club is dedicated to improving the lives of children everywhere, and that goes beyond just encouraging physical activity. We believe in supporting the whole child, which is why we’re proud to recognize the incredible work of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and its Homeless Education Office (HEO).
It’s heartbreaking to know that over 16,000 LAUSD students(TK- 12th grade) and their families experience homelessness. The HEO is a lifeline for these children, working tirelessly to ensure they have access to the resources they need to succeed in school. This includes providing essential items like clothing and school supplies and creating a supportive environment where these students can thrive.
How 100 Mile Club is more than just running:
We’re honored to have donated over 4,000 items to the HEO, including t-shirts and pencils, to help stock their clothing boutiques. These boutiques provide a dignified way for students experiencing homelessness to get the clothing they need to feel confident and ready to learn.
Beyond the Basics:
Creating happy, healthy kids means addressing their overall well-being. The HEO understands this, going above and beyond to provide wraparound services that support the emotional and social needs of these vulnerable students.
100 Mile Club applauds the HEO’s commitment to fostering equity and lessening the challenges faced by homeless students. We are proud to stand with them in their mission to improve the lives of children everywhere.
